Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-03-01
1. Overview
BDP ("we", "our", "us") is an open-source bioinformatics dependencies platform. We take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how we handle it.
2. Data We Collect
We collect minimal data required to operate the service:
- Standard web server access logs (IP address, user agent, requested path, timestamp)
- Search queries submitted to the registry — used only to improve search relevance
- Error reports generated by the application for debugging purposes
We do not collect account data, payment data, or personal identifiers beyond what is listed above. The BDP CLI operates entirely locally and does not transmit personal data.
3. Cookies
This website uses only functional cookies necessary for theme preference storage (light/dark mode). No tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party analytics cookies are used.
4. Third-Party Services
The platform uses the following third-party services:
- flagcdn.com — serves flag images for the language switcher
- Codeberg — hosts the source code and release artifacts
Each of these services has its own privacy policy. We do not share personal data with any advertising or analytics platforms.
5. Data Retention
Server access logs are retained for a maximum of 30 days for security and operational purposes, then permanently deleted.
6. Your Rights
Under GDPR and applicable European data protection law, you have the right to access, rectify, or request deletion of any personal data we hold about you. To exercise these rights, contact us at sebastian.stupak@pm.me.
